People who are giving this a bad review are not reading the description, nor looking at the pictures. This is NOT for 2 headphones or earbuds. This is for 1 headphone and 1 microphone, or a headset that has 2 jacks – one for the headphones and one for the mic. It takes the 2 jacks (sound and mic) and puts them into a single jack so they will both work in a single Headphone/Mic port. Mine arrived quickly and it works perfectly.

Not for "Aux" or earphone jack outputs

I have not used this with a mic, but tried to use it with an "Aux" output, such as an earphone jack, to record sound from a sound system mixer. It doesn't work for such applications… just use it to connect a typical condenser mic to your smart device (e.g., iPhone). Mics provide a path for Direct Current that Aux jacks do not. Without that path, a smart device will not switch from its internal mic to the earphone jack, so you will only record sound with the internal mic.

The Headset Splitter Adapter product is of sound construction and even has a small plug that will your iPhone case or wallet will not block. Since the earphone jack and the mic jack are each on short lengths of cable, large plugs will not interfere with each other. I expect it will work very well with a condenser mic or "headset" mic.

I have an external microphone that I wanted to connect to my MacBook air to use with. After running into issues with my mic recognizing the mic as an Input device, I did some research and found out it's a common occurrence and I would need to try an adapter (like this one) to address the problem. This exact adapter was the one linked in a video I watched on my issue – so I came here and purchased it.

I was disappointed because it did not work for my MacBook. However, I did try it on a friends windows computer where it did work.

So long story short, at least for my case – this adapter will not work as intended (to separate the mic and audio out) for a MacBook, but it seems to work fine if you need it for a Windows computer.

I must say that this is a quality product in my opinion. I only bought this for use with my Sennheiser headphones which have separate mic and headphone cable.
These will be used for gaming.
The cable came packaged sealed in a branded bag. It looks just like as pretty in person as it's product pictures and does what it is meant to do. I like the braided cable which adds durability to the cable and the gold leads. I like the satisfying snap when I plug the head phones into them.
I'm very happy with my purchase, the build quality is there sound quality is there and I liked the price a lot.

One thing I would change is the male end I would make a right angle version instead of a standard straight end (they may have one and I didn't even look).
