Nobody's cartridges run out at the same time. It all depends on what you are printing. In my case, I have owned this printer for years now and use it primarily for business things which rarely includes actual photographs*. With that caveat, I can't tell the difference in print quality even when I have at least three of the four cartridges in the photo from different suppliers.
