Provides bluetooth music for 2016 Pathfinder SV factory radio.

5 out of 5 stars

Provides bluetooth music for 2016 Pathfinder SV factory radio.
My 2016 Nissan Pathfinder SV has a Bluetooth interface that connects to my iPhone 14 Pro. The factory Bluetooth interface supports hands-free phone calls but it does not support streaming music from my iPhone. This seems strange and it is disappointing. A USB-A connector inside the center console (see pictures) provides power to my iPhone and supports music streaming. But, having to connect a cable to my iPhone defeats the purpose of having a Magsafe charger that makes it quick to mount/dismount the phone at the optimal viewing position on the dash. I tried using this Bluetooth adapter (see photos) via the center console USB A port but the radio visually indicated that the adaptor did not support the required format. So I plugged the adaptor into a 12V to USB power adaptor and connected the adaptor analog output via a Y cable to the RCA style right and left stereo analog inputs. The 90-degree USB adaptor was used to make it less likely that the adaptor would be damaged or become disconnected as junk is added/removed from the center console storage. My phone found this Bluetooth adaptor under Settings.Bluetooth with the name of "H222", with no password required, and it connected on the first try. I had to push the "AUX" input button on the Pathfinder radio several times until the analog interface was selected. Suggest you may want to turn the sound level setting on your phone to the maximum such that the sound level can be controlled via the radio volume control without having to set the radio volume to a high level. I have only used this setup for a few minutes at this point but I'm not expecting any issues based on prior experience with similar Bluetooth to analog adaptors. The sound coming out of the radio was very good with no static or other noise (see/hear the video used to capture sound out of radio).

It is a good way to bring your cabled car unit into a wireless future. I was tired of attaching a cable to my iPhone to listen to my book or music in car. Then big problem when I went to iPhone 15 switched to usb-c tried a cable change did not work. Went audio shop for help, was told $1000. For new head unit and labor. 2012 car doesn’t make since, came across this on Amazon gave it a try for less than $40. I’m in the BLue Tooth age. Can you say happy, i am.

This little gem is a bargain. Different colors are different prices, for some reason, so check them all out.

It came with a short 3.5mm cable which was perfect for my needs: adding bluetooth audio to my (2009 Subaru) factory car stereo, via the 3.5mm aux jack inside my car's console. I plugged a USB adapter into the 12V cigarette lighter socket in the console, plugged the bluetooth dongle into that, and patched the cable from the dongle to the aux jack located right next to the lighter socket. Super easy. And the dongle only gets power when the car is running, so I can just leave it plugged in and ready to go.

Audio quality was great. I had been considering replacing the car stereo, now I don't need to.

This did what it was supposed to do. Made my old JVC radio work with my bluetooth. Certainly cheaper than buying a new deck. Occasionally some background noise, but I think that's to do with the Ford MACH360 system and not this device.

I’ll preface this by saying I’ve only tried this directly connected to the usb input on my car and the aux input for my car. So far it is working great. I ran into some data/cache issues with a music app but it should not reflect on this device.

This review is not related to any audio delay. But I will say that like all USB Bluetooth adapters there is a normal delay on IOS of 4-8 seconds on song start/stop or pausing. Just know that is just how these things work.

I was trying to find a way to play music from my iwatch (cellular ) to my car but Apple will not allow you connect an iwatch directly to your cars bluetooth . Just dumb and typical Apple who I guess want you to use Carplay but Iwatch cant do Carplay.
Sometimes I just dont want to take my iphone ,particularly at night when i dont need it. Problem is i could not play any music in the car.
So i bought this bluetooth dongle and it works great with iwatch by itself. Sound quality is decent .There will be no music info on your car screen because iwatch really isnt supported on cars.
I would pull bluetooth stick out of USB port after use because it looks like it drains car battery power and usb will power the dongle on.
I highly recommend this dongle just make sure your car accepts usb bluetooth dongle input.
